The Church of St John the Baptist, Aston Ingham

The Parish of Aston Ingham is one of six parishes in the benefice of Ariconium, now under the pastoral care of the Rector, David Howell.

David has now been in the benefice for several years and, with his wife Annette and family, has been made welcome in all six parishes of the benefice. He can be contacted by telephone on 01989 568736 or by email CLICK HERE

Aston Ingham is a traditional rural parish, noted for the Lawson-Whatley family who were hereditary Rectors from 1785 until 1964.

The church was mostly rebuilt in 1891, but some parts of the building retain small links with its 12th and 13th origins. Also from the 13th century  are two carved coffin lids, possibly linked to the ancient Eston family.
